(From Goodreads) Seventeen-year-old Abigail Johnson is Gifted.

Blessed—or cursed—with Sight and Healing, Abby lives an unsettled life, moving from place to place and staying one step ahead of the darkness that hunts her. When she arrives in Jackson, Wyoming, she is desperate to maintain the illusion of normalcy, but she is plagued with visions of past lives mixed with frightening glimpses of her future. Then she meets Kye, a mysterious boy who seems so achingly familiar that Abby is drawn to him like he’s a missing piece of her own soul.

Before Abby can discover the reason for her feelings toward Kye, the darkness catches up to her and she is forced to flee again. But this time she’s not just running. She is fighting back with Kye at her side, and it’s not just Abby’s life at stake.

Isn't it every little girl's dream to be a princess? I mean, look what comes with it - a fancy house, pretty clothes, and best of all, a handsome prince. Maybe Abigail Johnson had that dream when she was little too. But, after her experiences in Descendant, I'm pretty sure it's no longer something she wants. Problem is, she doesn't have any choice in the matter, because it's already happened. Hundreds of years ago.

Abby has some really cool powers - she can heal injuries and even bring beings back from the dead. She also has glimpses of both the past, present and future in visions. I liked the description of her powers and how she uses them. She gets plenty of chances, too, for which I was grateful. It's always disappointing when main characters have superpowers and not a lot of chances to use them.

Kye is Abby's soul mate both in their current lives and in the past ones they lived together. Their relationships never end well though. In fact, they always end in death - SO not good. Kye is wonderful, of course, in every way. He never slips - never wavers in his love for Abby. And he and her together decide that this is their chance to break this curse hanging over them.

The ending held a few surprises and a final battle that was really well done. There were a few times during the story that I was a little confused. I think stories with plot devices like time travel and past lives are hard to do perfectly because, it's just so hard to keep the right characters in the right time with the right story line. Plus, there were a lot of characters and a lot of names to keep straight. It scrambled my brain a bit at times.

There were a lot of things to love about Descendant. Here's an excerpt so you can see for yourself. It's sure to suck you in, so follow on down to the giveaway link and enter to win Descendant for yourself!
